Kacey is cousin to my husband Lee, and while it was sad I couldn’t make her wedding (to another Lee!) as I was photographing another one in Bristol on the same date, I did get to come and join all the family at the evening do!
Kacey and Lee already had their photographers for the day, but as the sun dropped low the light was just perfect and everyone was inside – so I asked their photographer if he would mind me sneaking them outside for a couple of minutes while the guests were dancing. He agreed, and this was my favourite shot from the couple of minutes I had with them.
I haven’t lived back in Devon very long, so most of my 2010 weddings are still around the rest of the country – so for Robyn and Marc’s wedding it was a real treat to just jump in the car and head down the road to Plymouth!
I remember the first time I met Robyn and Marc – we got together in a coffee shop in Exeter to show them some albums, and when they walked in before I even knew who they were I said to Lee that I hope it’s those guys we’re meeting! They seemed so laid back and rock n roll and I knew straightaway that their wedding would be exactly the same – fabulous!
The whole wedding day was held at Manadon House, a gorgeous privately owned manor house which day to day is a real family home – one of whom is a gorgeous cream Maine Coon pussycat, who myself and my second shooter Donna Sharpe got to know quite well during our dinner break!
Marc and Robyn’s theme was New York, as this was where they got engaged and also where they are currently on honeymoon! The colours they used were city chic grey and yellow and they had gorgeous customised stationary and invitations in a vintage letterpress style from Hello Lucky. I was especially taken aback by the amazing flowers created by Amanda Randell from Randell Cox – they made such a great backdrop for the ceremony, group shots and bride and groom photos!
You might also spot their matching tattoos which are jigsaw pieces that fit into one another – cute! I definitely needed to make sure I got a photo of these because they were done during their engagement shoot a few months ago at their friend Neil’s Dust n Bones Tattoo Studio in Plymouth and I got to witness Robyn’s pain first hand! They do look fantastic though – well worth the agony! Marc even ran with the theme, getting jigsaw cufflinks – their attention to detail was amazing!
The cake by Rosanne Hollowell definitely warrants a very special mention. It’s unusual to see a really unique wedding cake when you’re at a wedding every weekend, but this was so unique and lovely, and matched the feel of the day perfectly.
Also I don’t work with videographers that often, but I loved working with Memories on Film from Cornwall. Marc and Robyn had booked them for their super 8 film, and I just know it’s going to be awesome!

Angie and James had their fabulous wedding at Riverstation, a gorgeous restaurant/bar venue right on the dockside in Bristol. I was especially excited at the prospect of the bride and groom creative session because the venue is so close to Bristol’s vintage railway and dock cranes and I knew as long as the weather held that it would be brilliant for photos!
The fab Sarah Vivienne, who was helping me for the day, and I arrived to start taking getting ready photos at Angie and James’ gorgeous flat in Clifton – I’d not been inside before, and was so taken aback at how stunning it was with 360 degree views across the city. White walls and filled with lots of light – ideal conditions for us photographers!
I loved Angie’s beautiful 1940s-look Long Jean Alice Temperley dress, it was so unusual and made for stunning photos from front and back. It was also lovely to capture Angie’s expression as she saw out of the window the vintage car that her parents had organised for her and James as a surprise for the day!
After finally beating the Bristol traffic, we arrived at Riverstation. The ceremony was lovely – filled with laughter, really relaxed and intimate.
We shot some family groups at next door Severnshed, and then headed to the docks to get creative! It was really fun to be able to get some really unusual portraits during a real wedding – often I only get to visit industrial or quirky locations if I’m going to do a bridal fashion shoot – so it was a real treat!

Nick and Jayne are both actors and I know them through Jayne’s lovely sister Anne, whose wedding to Jonathan I photographed last summer!
It was great to come back and to recognise so many family faces, including friends of Nick and Jayne’s who had traveled all the way over from America – and we were also back at the same lovely light church, which was The Holy Ghost Church in Crowthorne, Berks.
I LOVE photographing guests when people are just milling around – it’s great to sneak some long lens shots when people aren’t noticing (I only keep the flattering ones of course though!) and this wedding had absolutely loads of extremely stylish and happy people, which made my job that much easier!
Many of Nick and Jaynes friends are also actors, and I had the privilege of photographing both established names such as Mark Gatiss, from The League of Gentlemen and one of only three people to have written and starred in Doctor Who and up and coming talent who I’m sure will be household names in the not so distant future!
Easthampstead Park is a gorgeous setting, and the weather that day had to be one of the hottest of the entire year! Rather fabulously, Jayne and Nick had organised an ice cream van to greet guests as they arrived, which I could see was very well received!
Thanks Nick and Jayne, and hope you like the pictures! x

I looked forward to photographing James and Pip’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond, Surrey for ages! They had been looking for a photographer with an American style – even at one stage considering flying someone over from the States, before deciding to book me. So the pressure was on somewhat – but hey I love working under pressure!
So much about wedding photography is in the unique details each bride thinks of, and Sarah Vivienne (my second shooter for the day) and myself had loads of lovely things to capture – from Pip’s gorgeous Christian Louboutins to the French themed tableplan. We were in photography heaven!
I particularly loved the simple and chic choices Pip had made for the day, especially her bespoke wedding dress by Ellie & Charlotte – which came with lovely handwritten note to Pip from the designers and her beautiful white wedding bouquet of hydrangeas by Lucy the Florist of The Luxe. Pip and James also had the most amazing chinese wedding cake from the Golden Gate Cake Shop.
Another one of the highlights of the day was the surprise singing waiters from Soprano Bella Entertainment who arrived after the main meal to the delight of the guests. I absolutely loved the reactions from everyone!
