Had a fab time photographing James and Stephanie’s fantastic wedding last weekend at St Paul’s Cathedral in Central London, followed by an amazing Hong Kong themed reception at nearby Skinners Hall.
The day started by meeting up with James and his best man having a cut throat shave at the oldest barbershop in the world, the very gentlemanly Truefitt & Hill near Green Park – definitely a sophisticated way to start your wedding day! It made for some really fun photographs – especially of James looking pretty worried as the blade edged towards his throat!
Stephanie and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the stunning 5* Thameside County Hall Marriott Hotel , which was right by the London Eye and then it was a quick hop for me and my second shooter Sarah in a black cab over to St Pauls.
The arrival of any bride is always a highlight, but when it’s at St Pauls with a crowd of hundreds of tourists getting excited – and she arrives in a stunning white 1950s cadilliac, this was really something else!
After the ceremony we took the opportunity to shoot a few romantic portraits around St Pauls, and then down to the Millennium Bridge – which was slightly busier than anticipated! However, this made for lots of congratulatory well wishers – and James and Stephanie even met another couple who were having their own wedding anniversary that day which was very special!
Guests who had headed straight on to Skinners Hall were treated to a rather unusual welcome in the form of a Lion Dance which had everyone screaming with delight, especially the children who tried to stroke him!
